Our business also provides community support for residents in the former Copeland borough through our Advice & Guidance project.

A Legacy of Entrepreneurial Support
Formerly known as the Cleator Moor Workspace, our organisation was established to revive the town’s historical entrepreneurial spirit by offering affordable office space. The old Co-Operative heritage buildings in the centre of Cleator Moor were renovated and converted into managed workspaces for start-up businesses, third-sector organisations, and SMEs.

Cleator Moor offers easy access to all major West Cumbrian towns, making it an ideal business hub. You can reach the Georgian Market Town of Whitehaven in just 5 minutes, while Westlakes Science Park at Moor Row and the Sellafield site at Seascale are both within a 15-minute drive. Because of this, Phoenix Enterprise Centre’s (PEC) location is especially popular with businesses working with the nuclear industry supply chain.
Diverse Business Accommodation within Heritage Premises
We house our business accommodation within the former CO-OP buildings—Phoenix House and Phoenix Court—and the former Conservative Association Club, St. Kevin’s Hall, on the High Street. The Phoenix Enterprise Centre’s properties are currently home to around 30 businesses, collectively employing over 250 people. Our business tenants occupy over 40,000 square feet of town centre business space, offering everything from workshop units to small and large office suites.
